Sharp Finch legal
Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
1. Information we collect
When you create and use a Sharp Finch account, we collect your email address and account information, including whether the account is active, its customer or administrator role, membership state, email-verification state, and Terms-acceptance record.
Passwords are processed to create a secure password hash. Sharp Finch does not store plaintext passwords. We store hashed authentication-session identifiers and hashed email-verification tokens, together with creation, expiration, use, supersession, or revocation timestamps as applicable.
Our hosting and web-server infrastructure may process basic request and security information such as IP address, browser or device information, request path, timestamps, and error or security logs. If you contact us, we receive the information you include in that communication.
2. How we use information
- Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure customer accounts.
- Provide Sharp Finch content and account access.
- Verify email ownership and send transactional account messages.
- Respond to support, privacy, and account requests.
- Prevent abuse or fraud and investigate security issues.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve service reliability.
- Comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
3. Service providers
Sharp Finch uses service providers to operate the product. Current provider categories include Render for application hosting, Neon managed PostgreSQL infrastructure for database storage, and Resend for transactional account email. These providers process information on Sharp Finch’s behalf under their own service and security terms. Their use does not imply endorsement of Sharp Finch.
Sharp Finch does not currently use Stripe or collect payment-card information.
4. Cookies and sessions
Sharp Finch uses a necessary authentication cookie to keep customers signed in. The cookie contains a session identifier, not a password. It is configured as HttpOnly, uses SameSite=Lax, is Secure in production, and expires according to the configured session period.
This authentication cookie is used for account and security functionality, not advertising. Sharp Finch’s current frontend does not include cross-site advertising pixels or third-party analytics scripts. Our practices may change as the service develops, and this policy will be updated when appropriate.
Browser privacy signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Sharp Finch does not currently use cross-site advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts, so we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals through a separate technical mechanism.
Sharp Finch does not currently permit third-party advertising or analytics services through the site to collect personal information about users’ online activities over time and across unrelated websites for targeted advertising.
If our tracking practices materially change, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
5. Retention
We retain information only as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the service, maintain operational records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention can vary by the type of information and why it is needed.
6. Your requests
You may contact support@sharpfinch.com with questions or requests concerning your account information, correction, deletion, or privacy. Requests are reviewed and handled as appropriate under applicable law; automated deletion is not currently offered.
7. Security
Sharp Finch uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including password hashing, hashed session identifiers, limited session lifetimes, and restricted internal access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
8. Age limitation
Sharp Finch is intended for users age 21 and older and is not directed to children. Do not create an account if you are under 21.
9. Policy changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the service or applicable requirements change. When appropriate, material updates will be communicated through the service or by email. The effective date above identifies the current version.
10. Contact
